As I continue to use autos, my funny experiences don't seem to end.
On my way to work one day I caught this auto and was sitting as usual lost in my thoughts, when I hear this strange horn kind of a sound. After a gap of 30 seconds the sound I heard it again. After a while, I lost my patience and started giving a bhashan to the driver saying, "please stop honking". When he turns around and tells me that its not the horn I hear, but a beeper that he has installed on purpose. Apparently in the past he's had customers who suddenly just get off and leave at signals without paying without his notice. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. But something real crazy must have happened for the guy to install that irritating beeper!
Another day I took an auto and went to buy some stuff. So I wanted him to wait for me at one particular shop, where I needed to buy something small. He told me categorically that he had no problem with waiting but that I had to pay him the 12 rupees that was the meter. Surprised again, about why he was being so picky about 12 bucks, he tells me that in the past he's had several clients who leave and just don't come back!
These two stories make me wonder what kind of people do such things?
