How can you go nowhere??? Well even I thought that was kind of impossible to do...but that's exactly what we landed up doing today.
Ten of us set out from Mumbai at 10:30 a.m to go to Murud Jangira for the day. Some people had been there several years back. One fat guy who's just got back from Australia confidently said that we had to go to Borivali and then head out from there. So off we went past Goregaon...when we figured out that something was wrong. We asked someone on the way and they confirmed our doubts. Oops we had made our first mistake. Then came the even bigger one. We went straight ahead because the friend of the fat guy said that there was a way through Thane. Thane seriously in another city...we were all kind of getting irritated wondering what the hell was happening, but true Indian ishtyle we went straight through Thane onto Mumbra. Any of you who know Mumbai will know oh how so wrong we were.
Mumbra is like what you would read in the books. Tiny narrow roads, lots of traffic, people going everywhere, some looked like they were going nowhere like us. Then came Nagpada...by this we had all lost it, given a chance we would have all killed this fat guy!!! We decided to just scrap the whole plan and head back to Mumbai, before we got even more lost.
Then asking people every 10 metres for the directions we got to Panvel, which if we had headed out straight from Bandra would have taken us 45 minutes to reach. To get to Panvel via the route we had taken took us 3 1/2 to 4 hours...insane!!! And after driving for 70 odd km all we did was go nowhere...not our planned destination, not anywhere. All I can say is what a day and what a trip!!!

Hard Rock Cafe...

Two weekends at Hard Rock Café…one a wild party that made us all feel like we were 16, out partying for the first time and the other a more sober one in comparison. What inspired me to write this post is this little bit of history about Hard Rock Café that I found out today…it's one those quirky do you know kind of things. To get to the point…Eric Clapton used to visit this American diner in London called Hard Rock Café. It was run by this bunch of Americans who wanted people to come enjoy good food and have a good time. Clapton was friends with the proprietor and offered his guitar, which soon went on the walls of the café. The followed another guitar and there was no looking back. There are 140 Hard Rock Cafes around the world and all them put together have more than 68,000 memorabilia up on the walls. The single largest valuable display on walls!!!
